Just watched [Safe] (1995) for the first time. What are your thoughts?

The Criterion Collection just recently released this on blu-ray/DVD. I can't believe it has taken me this long to see this film. It's a film that's full of many possible interpretations, yet I really don't hear it mentioned all that much or at all by audiences even though it was apparently voted at the best film of the 1990s by The Village Voice. I'm just curious what reddit thinks about it.
