Would it be possible to create something that allowed redditors to get film recommendations based on what other redditors with similar tastes have enjoyed.

This may already exist but I've tried looking at can't find anything.

Basically what I was thinking is that all interested redditors would submit a list of films they really enjoyed so just to keep things easy, let's say I enjoyed films A, B, C, D. Then another user who also liked films A, B, C could see that they had a similar taste to me and would then be able to try film D knowing that there was a decent chance they'd like that too.

No idea how we'd get it to work and I don't know if any of you even care but I just thought it was a nice idea. I know there is/was a chrome app for rotten tomatoes which did a similar thing, allowing you to find critics who liked the films you did but this could be on a much bigger scale.
