What if the "Real World" in the Matrix trilogy was just another Matrix?

I have seen the movies again not too long ago, watched it with my son and he had the same reaction as me the first time I saw the movies, espcially towards the ending and he goes "Hoo... they are stuck in another Matrix aren't they?"

I have had this theory for awhile that goes along the lines of "Inception". i.e. After a few itteration, the machines realized that there will always be humans figuring out that something was off with the matrix, so they built a second one specifically for those humans, much like a Try/Catch exception in programming.

So you think they got out, but they are still in... a second matrix for thoses who would not accept the first one. How else could Neo start seeing the real world much like the first matrix, but this time in yellow ASCII codes instead of green?

I am curious to know if there were any comments from the director/writters of the movies in that direction? Just wondering.
