Just a quick talk about Toy Story 4 (2017)
Whenever talk of Toy Story 4 being made comes up on this sub I always hear people saying how it is unnecessary because of how well Toy Story 3 ended, and I wholeheartedly agree with this, but people also bring up talks about how Pixar is trying to milk the franchise as much as possible for the $$$.
This I disagree with completely. I have never thought about Pixar as that type of a company (sure all companies, to some extent, are designed to generate profit), but with Pixar I feel that the people really care about the product they make and they really want to please their audience.
Now, evidently, some people have started getting second doubts about this with Toy Story 4 in production, but to that, I want to bring up this quote by John Lasseter: "Toy Story 3 ended Woody and Buzz’s story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another Toy Story movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie—and I wanted to direct it myself."
That, at least for me, gives some sort of reassurance that yea, this movie has some potential to surpass its predecessors. We can say it may be unnecessary all we want, but that's what people said about Toy Story 3 as well and that turned out to be a perfect conclusion to this little story. For all we know, the same can be said for Toy Story 4; it might have an even greater conclusion for the franchise. I have a lot of faith in Pixar and I think so should some of the Toy Story 4 naysayers.
