Questions about IMAX, Liemax, and DMR..
I recently learned about Liemax. I had gone to see TDKR back in IMAX when it came out, and it was a better experience than my regular theater, but it was unimpressive, especially for the amount of money we paid (there were 9 of us). It was surprising in a disappointing sort of way, bunch of people rave about IMAX, I was hoping for a mind-blowing experience, in terms of theater experience. I was always puzzled as to why. I recently stumbled across Liemax, and I have to say, it makes a lot more sense now. Liemax is kind of a dick move by the IMAX Corp., IMO. Anyway, I really want to see a non-Liemax movie now. I'm a big superhero nerd, and have been debating taking a trip to Navy Pier to see Age of Ultron. I am aware it was not shot on 70mm film and is being DMR'd. My question is... will DMR at a real IMAX theater be better than my TDKR Liemax experience, or will it end up being the same thing? I'm not really informed on how that type of stuff works. I know films shot natively on 70mm are best, but will Ultron be fun and worth the money?
