A question about The Grand Budapest Hotel

Không có nhận xét nào :

Forgive me if my anaylsis is off here, as my normal movie intake would be the filmographical equivalent to a diet of fast food (my tastes in movies arent all that refined).

I watched this movie for the first time recently, and while I loved it there was something I noticed that seemed odd. During the course of the movie some of the actors seem to be introduced as the actor themselves, rather than the character. For example, when the characters are trading punches at the reading of the will and suddenly BAM! William Dafoe. It almost seemed intentional to invoke "holy crap, william dafoe is in this movie" with a secondary "wow, this guy is menacing". Also, during the calling tree of all the concierges there was suddenly Bill Murray, and later, back at the hotel, suddenly Owen Wilson.

This didnt ruin the experience for me, but it did take me off guard, as I had not really experienced it before. Did anyone else notice this?
