Anyone see the movie of Brave New World with Leonard Nimoy?
While remembering Spock, anyone see the excellent cable TV movie of Brave New World with Leonard Nimoy as Mustafa?
Amazing adaption. Faithful to the book and Nimoy, of course, was superb. Unfortunately, not only is the movie not streaming, it isn't even on DVD.

Looking for good movies about dynastic upheaval, empire and legacy.
I'm working on a project where the main conflict revolves around power plays inside a major company, including two major conflicts - 1) Between the owner/father and his son he's grooming but is unsure about the morality of his father's business, and 2) A higher-up in the company trying to position himself to take over and steer them in a different direction. The son is tempted to join him.
That's really bare-bones shit, but the point is that I'm looking for other movies about power plays and particularly movies about empire, where the aging ruler is trying to preserve his dynasty but the new guard ain't so sure.

Is 'It Follows' horribly mismarketed?
I just got back from seeing this film on its opening night here in the UK and I have to say I loved this film.
However almost everyone else in the cinema hated it to the point where I started to doubt my perceived love of the film.
After speaking to my brother in law (who I saw the film with) he said he felt lied to by the adverts and he said he expected the film to be more of a jump scare horror then the slow, tense thriller that the film ended up being.
Recently other critically acclaimed horror films have also received negative attention from audiences after they felt duped by the adverts. The Babadook is another good example of this.
I guess my question is: Is this going to damage the marketability of all different types of films in the horror genre?
The way I see it, audiences will lose trust in the genre is they keep being tricked into seeing films they thought would be very different.
What are your thoughts?

[Spoilers] Kingsman tribute to Zoolander?
In the final scene of Kingsman, we have a fight that stops and starts according to music playing (I know, the music isn't playing for everyone, the soundtrack corresponds to the frequency and the music is only playing in the bunker), and the fight then moves on to the dance floor where Gazelle literally break-dance fights Eggsy. Any one else feel and appreciate the nod from one great conspiracy comedy to another?

Planning a hitch-hiking, vagabond-style trip to the states. Movies in the same spiritual vein? Movies about the South?
I'm in the early stages of planning a trip to the states this summer. A buddy of mine is out there already so we're gonna link up and hit the road for a month - 6 weeks.
New Orleans, Memphis, Savannah, Charleston, Asheville, Austin, Big Bend National Park, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Marfa, Texas - a few southern places that are standing out on vague inspection. I reiterate; vague inspection.
We also might go up the West coast too. We're planning on doing it pretty cheap, hitch-hiking where possible, couchsurfing, motels, hostels etc. We've no car.
I love films and my favourite film happens to be a road movie of sorts - five easy pieces.
Any recommendations for great movies about vagabonds, drifters or just straight up travellers?
Preferably set in America. Also any great movies set in the south I should watch - road/adventure movie or otherwise?
Muchas Gracias

Original or Remake?
I have a question to the cineast on this forum.
I just watched Conan the Barbarian(2011) and then the original (1982). Allso I watched Dead space(1991)[Allthough not all], then some part of the original Forbidden World (1982) [Witch is all the 2 originals to ALIEN imo btw]
What do YOU think is the best way to watch a movie, remake or original first?

What should the new Alien movie be called?
The obvious answer would be Alien 3 or something clever like Alien and a third, but that would confuse people into thinking it was a remake of Alien 3 when it seems like it's very much going to be its own thing from the sounds of it. So what should it be called?

Death Race Trilogy (2008-2012): Who is Frankenstein in the first scene of the first movie?
Let me explain without spoiling any of the plot:
The first scene of the first movie, we see Frankenstein racing. Frankenstein is just a mask. We don't necessary find out his indentity.
Now, I was thinking how to word this without spoiling...
- In the first movie happens this and this.
- In the second movie there is a plot that explain what happen so this and this could happen in the first movie, in other words it's a prequel. A prequel with its own thrilling story, just like the first movie, thrilling and enjoyable to watch.
- Well, the third movie is a little more complicated. The plot doesn't necessary continue from the second movie but you sure do know it happens after the second movie and before the first movie. The plot is thrilling and enjoyable to watch.
Towards the end of the third movie, we see who is setup to be Frankenstein. Listen here now, his character is not who we want Frankenstein to be. Frankenstein is someone you love, someone you wanna cheer for, that guy by the end of the third movie who is setup to be Frankenstein is not 'our' guy.
This is why I ask, who is the Frankenstein in the first scene of the first Death Race Movie?
You might want to consider watching the trilogy, because the way I worded this (spoiler-free) makes next to no sense if you know nothing about the movie(s)

What are some funny things that audience members have yelled out at the theatre during a movie? What movie was it? What was the audience reaction?
For me, it was at the midnight showing in 2011 for Harry Potter/Deathly Hallows Part 2, at the King's Cross scene when Harry asks "what is it?" An audience member shouted, "Abortion!!" Everyone laughed...and cringed a little. A few months later I walked by people holding dead fetuses signs at Planned Parenthood and they asked me, "Do you know what this is?" I replied, "Part of Lord Voldemort's soul?"

By the time the movie started we still did not get the confirmation email and had to buy the tickets again. We tried calling many times and it would not go through. Just watched Non-Stop on HBO, and I noticed something strange about Liam Neeson's face
I guess (?) this could be considered a spoiler so don't read on if you don't want to be spoiled for Non-Stop (but honestly, who cares, the movie isn't good anyway).
In the final shot of the movie, Liam Neeson smiles at Julianne Moore and the whole time I kept thinking, what's up with his face? I couldn't explain it, it just looked weird. Not the usual Liam Neeson face. So I go online looking for discussions about it, and I found this on the imdb message boards for the movie:
Neeson had a stroke in the final scene
Is this true?? Seems like crap to me, but, his face did look very weird. And imdb even has it listed as the #1 fact on their trivia page for this movie.
Anyone seen the movie, and/or know what I'm talking about?

Something about Dawn of the Planet of the Apes that has been bugging me since I first saw it.
In the scene where Malcolm and his gang are told to flee the Ape home after Ceasar is shot and Koba burns it down, it has all 5 of them, minus Carver. It was Malcom, his girlfriend and son and the two others who were with them at the gas station. When they are being chased by the apes only Malcolm, his girlfriend and son are shown hiding and the other two have just disappeared. They never show up for the remainder of the movie and it really bugs. Is this just a plot hole of the film or were they killed by the apes? Please help answer it as it is bugging me.

What movie sequel do you not want to see?
I just heard about Blade Runner 2. I really hate this; I think they should just leave it as a standalone piece with its delightful ambiguity. I understand it's a commercial rather than artistic decision, and the studio are entitled to do as they wish, but I have no interest in seeing a sequel to Blade Runner.
So what sequel is the one you did not want to see, yet they made it anyway? And what sequel do you dread appearing from the Hollywood recycling machine?

I heard about the movie "Predestination" on this subreddit recently and was intrigued, so I went to watch it, and about 30 minutes in I realized it seemed very familiar. After some googling I found this, which was exactly what I looking for and what was causing my déjà vu. Its a 2008 creepypasta from 4chan that is the exact same plot as this movie. Do also believe that Annabelle was a disaster of a film?
Like most horror flicks nowadays - horrible. And there's nothing like a proper horror film. The Conjuring was quite nice, for example (a rarity). However, Annabelle was a real piece of shit. Pardon my language but it was a tremendous disappointment. The acting was terrible, the doll was not scary, nothing was scary. The cinematography in general was mediocre at its best.

Batman Returns is not as good as you remember it. (spoilers for Batman Returns 1989)
In fact it's awful. As a kid I though I liked it but I went back and rewatched it the other day and could barely finish it. It's pretty sexist, Selina Kyle is presented as pathetic because she doesn't have a husband then she turns into Catwoman and the running gag is that she makes all the men horny. The whole movie is full of pervy "jokes" that are just painful and out of place. Obviously Burton wanted to do the joker again instead of penguin, the movie is full of leftover clown props and imagery (I mean why on earth is the Penguin running the "Clown Gang?"). Half the movie focuses on Walken's villian who doesn't even do anything except for throwing Selina Kyle out a window at the beginning. The plot makes no sense, why does the penguin need to be mayor in the first place? Why would Max Shrek (Walken) even want the Penguin as mayor? And then they just disregard that whole thread like, "nevermind we'll just keep him as a regular villian." The penguin got the blueprint to the batmobile? How? The dialogue is straight cornball. All his henchmen sumersault everywhere they go, because they're clowns I guess. It has that overbearing choral music that Burton uses in all his films. Every scene was over the top stylized with no substance. In fact, it made me rethink all of Tim Burton's movies (Edward, and Nightmare are safe, not sure about the rest). There's roughly a pun a minute. The very first guy that batman fights gets set on fire (looks like he died to me, NOT very batman-like). When Batman reveals his identity he tears his mask in half like it's made of play-do. The whole thing left me feeling a little queasy. I rewatched the first Batman too, but I thought it had a good balance of dramatic and cheesy, not the case here. Anyway... felt like going on a little rant about it. Oh yeah, and there's an attempted rape scene.

What's your favourite line from a shitty film?
I'm not talking so much about a film where all the dialogue is so hilariously bad it's quotable, I'm talking about that really shitty film that has one stand-out line that you genuinely think is genius and would love to quote if it weren't for the source.

Anyone ever despise a character so much that your feelings of disdain carried over (to some degree) toward the actor who played the character?
My personal example of this is Catherine Keener, whose character in Being John Malkovich I found to be so incredibly grating that I got to the point where I'm instinctively inclined to dislike her whenever she pops up. Completely unfounded, I realize. I suppose the flip side of this speaks to just how well the actress/actor played the part in question.
It's an interesting phenomenon. There was a great Op-Ed piece in the NY Times back in 2013, by Anna Gunn, talking about how many Breaking Bad fans hated Skyler White so much (for not siding with Walt, the show's protagonist) that the feelings contempt for the character were actually felt by her real world persona.

Has any other film got a small piece of music so clearly loved as Come To Me from Fright Night (Original)? If you like this film - you'll know the track I mean instantly.
I was listening to Indigo Dream by Zero Cult today and the bass made me want to hear Come To Me again.
I loved that track back in the 80s when I first saw Fright Night. It was so, so integral to the film for me. I didn't hear it for years or never knew where to get it but with the coming of the internet one day I just thought "I'll search for it".
Lo and behold it's all over YouTube, there are covers of it on Spotify and YouTube now. People clearly search for it as its commented on all the time, with praise.
Is it just me or did this track just hit the spot? It's such a minor track and not something that could ever be in the charts. It has no vocals for a start, and it's not the theme music or title track or anything. For Fright Night 2 they revamped it with singing, but it's not as good. And of course it's completely missing from the awful remake.
But yeah, Come To Me by Brad Fiedel. It'll always evoke something for me.

Watched "Hot Tub Time Machine" today and noticed references to two other John Cusack movies. Are there any others?
While John Cusack is skiing, a guy walks past him talking on a cell phone and says "I want my two dollars" -- like the kid in Better Off Dead.
Then, later on when his friends ask why he isn't going to break up with his girlfriend, he says, "It's not that I'm not gonna do it, I just haven't done it yet. There's a big difference." -- a reference to his scene with Jack Black in High Fidelity where they debate whether not having done something "yet" means that you're planning to do it.
So that made me think that there must be a lot more references to old John Cusack movies in there. Anybody spot any others?

Neil Blomkamp in my opinion is laying his chips down
I feel like he's making a pretty bold claim with this. He's saying that the last two movies are vastly inferior to the two classics, and we should pretend they never happened. But it's a bold claim because he more or less promises his sequel will be a worthy successor.
The first two are classics for a reason. They were both groundbreaking for different reasons. Will his be? What can he do with the premise that won't have been seen before? I certainly have no idea.
I have only seen half of district 9. Wasn't my personal cup of tea. It kind of novel to see a movie doing different things though. That's all I know about blomkamp, his breakout was not your run of the mill Hollywood crap. I haven't seen Elysium.
I guess I'm kind of optimistic he could do something great. I don't know what he could do though. Maybe there's one thing the last two movies lacked: fear. Those first two movies were scary, tense experiences. The second was a bit more edge of your seat i guess. The third's theme seemed to be kind of hopeless and depressing. I don't know anyone who ever found it scary. The fourth was kind of cool but barely even resembling the horror roots of the first.

A few movies have used "In-Environment" titles/credits in their opening sequence; the text interacts with the environment or appears as an object in the world. I have clips and would like to solicit additional occurrences as well as discuss an observation made about a particular opening sequence.
Here's a copy/paste time saver for your comments:TL;DNR your windbag post, but from what I gleaned of the title...
I use the term "In-Environment" because my searches for what this practice is called yielded no results and I could find no discussions that bestowed any lernin' on me!
Below are links to videos of the opening title/credit sequences, as well as screenshots showing examples.
Desperate Measures (1998) | Screen | Screen |
This is the simplest of the bunch and has the text scrolling along surfaces, matching the perspective of the shot.
Easy A (2010) | Screen | Screen |
Here, the camera moves through the courtyard of a school with the text placed throughout the environment, occasionally being partially obscured by an object (waving flag, actors body).
Panic Room (2002) | Screen | Screen |
The title/credits in this intro are very large objects suspended in the city amongst the buildings.
Thir13en Ghosts (2001) | Screen | Screen |
This sequence shows the credits close to the walls as the camera pans slowly around the room. * Bonus: The back-story is revealed through audio and ever-so-slightly changing decor in the room until we come full circle and see Tony Shalhoub, broken and in destitution, indicated by all of the notices on the wall that was clean when the pan-around starts.
Zombieland (2009) | Screen | Screen |
The delicately suspended text in the sequence is disturbed by persons running through it. It would be neglectful to mention the excellent use of "In-Environment" text to accentuate Jesse Eisenberg's "Rules".
Sleepy Hollow (1999) | Screen | Screen |
Here's the odd one of the bunch. For the majority of the sequence, the text simply materializes, then disperses, with 2 notable exceptions.
In the first screen, you'll notice that Johnny Depp is reflected in the water. Nowhere else in the title/credits sequence is the text given the opportunity to interact with the environment.
The second screen shows an interesting shot where the carriage is being pulled through a beautifully creepy forest in what could be Fall. The letters of the names fall away and drift down, like leaves off the trees.
I segregated this sequence because it seems odd to me that, with these 2 exceptions, the entirety of the title/credit sequence is simple fading in and out of the text. Why do you suppose that is?
I look forward to any further examples of "In-Environment" title/credit sequences, WTF this style of opening is actually called, and perhaps thoughts on the Sleepy Hollow randomness of partially doing it that way.
Movies with sequences like Napoleon Dynamite (2004) Screen and Detention (2011) Screen were omitted. The text appears written/printed on objects in the scene, not as objects themselves.

Clouds of Sils maria; the better Birdman.
I recently watched Clouds of Sils Maria and was blown away. It remedies me a little of Birdman only because it's about a play within the movie and about an actor regaining some esteem by doing said play. Also they are similar in that there is some very meta parts. Other than that, they are very different films. Despite being so distinct I still found myself comparing certain aspects and concluded that I didn't like Birdman, and I love Sils Maria. Kristin Stewart is fantastic, her winning a Caesar award this year was a big reason why I watched it. Also I have been a fan of Olivier Assayas since Demonlover, so maybe that contributes to my affinity for his most recent work. I was surprised that is didn't get Oscar nominations, but realized it must not have played in LA in time for the awards. Anyway I have yet to find quality discussion of this film so if you've seen it, I'd love to hear what you think.

I just familiarized myself with the theory of the whole movie being a dream and there is something I don't understand about that theory:
If everything we see in the movie is just a dream why doesn't Mal appear in it the same way she does in other dreams against Copper's will and regardless of who's dreaming? Doesn't that indicate that Copper is right about when he is dreaming and when he is not?

Would you recommend me a movie about forbidden love between an older man and much younger girl
I am not sure if this is the subreddit i was looking for. I apologize if i am wrong!
I am looking for a movie where a girl somehow comes into a family and destroys it... where this girl and the man are the main characters, the girl is not just the third wheel... Probably i am also looking for movies about love between an older man and much younger girl or woman. i prefer a movie shot after 2005.
I tried rotten tomatoes with the movie "Breathe in" (they had a section where they compare movies on rating and topic) but i don't seem to find this section any more. tried google too , also imdb ... Best wishes to you all : )

Need help remembering the name of a movie.
Now, I only have limited amount of information. But here it goes: in the movie a young lady recalls a game to a man that she used to play with her dad. It goes along the lines of, if i was feeling down I'd say blue frog, if I was happy I'd say red frog and if I was just okay I'd say i was just a frog. They might be the wrong colours i just overheard it somewhere lately, I have a feeling the movie is new-ish. Thanks guys.

Questions regarding Oscar nominations?
These questions are addressed to those who are more knowledgeable regarding the Oscars. So without further ado:
Can an actor/actress be nominated for both leading role and supporting role at the same time? For example they have a double role in the same movie or leading role in a movie and a supporting role in another movie.
Taking the second premise. Can an actor be nominated for leading role for multiple movies( could an actor be nominated for five different roles-maximum amount-at the same time)? And taking things to the extreme(ly fun) can an actor be nominated for all ten roles both leading and supporting at the same time (assuming obviously that he has played in enough movies released in the same year)?
I know that these are highly hypothetical situations but I want to know if they are at all possible. Shower thoughts I guess. Obligatory: English is not my native language and thank you very much!!!

The Truth About Bradley Cooper and The Oscars
The more I think about it, the more upset I am that Bradley Cooper was snubbed at The Oscars on Sunday.
Hear me out. I know Cooper did not portray the kind of character or take on the kind of role that the snobs in Hollywood typically care for--it didn't fit the traditional "Best Actor" mold. There was lots of violence in the film; he spent most of the movie brandishing a gun, and yes, the character was portrayed as something of a superhero in a situation with much bigger political issues at play that the movie only grazed.
But his sensitive portrayal of the scars his character endured--both physical and emotional--brought an unexpected pathos to a character who could otherwise have easily just been a cartoon character. Yes, he used a firearm. Yes, his partner was a little wooden. Yes, the accent was a little distracting at times. But none of those things should have disqualified Cooper from gaining the well-deserved recognition for breathing such life into a character that enthralled us all.
You know it. I know it. Deep down in their hearts, the Oscar voters know it. This year's best performance was Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon.

A scene I remember from The Avengers (2012)
Can someone tell me if what I'm thinking of it's true or I'm just loosing my mind. When I first watched The Avengers in theaters during its premiere I clearly remember a scene involving Capitan America rescuing a bunch of people from some building or something, helping them evacuate, but then he starts helping this old man, who stops on his tracks, takes a look at him and says "Captain?" Meaning that he recognizes him from the war. Now, when I watched the movie a second time, on DVD, there was no such scene, so I'm wondering if that actually happened or I'm imagining things.

Use 10 critics who dislike films about "the industry" as academy award voters, and Birdman still wins.
I'm so sick of hearing people say birdman's win was a result of its "movie industry" premise. The movie was a masterpiece, a show of creative genius. Anyone who watched the film closely knows there is a hell of a lot more to it than a comment on actors. It's a movie about death, ego, consciousness, and life in one of the most remarkably vivid series of scenes I've ever seen. Fuck ya'll idiots

Is anyone else really infuriated that they did this, do they expect everyone to see the films that were nominated. I won't tell what they spoiled in case someone hasn't seen it either. Also, Neil Patrick Harris saying 'spoilers' after it doesn't really redeem this.

Honest question. A friend of mine mentioned that Jupiter constantly makes poor decisions and has to have her man save her throughout the film. Movie Suggestions for movies similar to 'The Social Network'
I am looking for movie suggestions in a specific style of movie. Movies that are based of true stories but still are very entertaining to watch. A movie where you learn a lot about the subject matter (hopefully most of the movie is relatively accurate) and you still have fun watching it.
I would like to think 'The Social Network' is a good example of this. There are a lot of movies that are "based of true stories" but aren't really the true story of what happened (I realize there are inaccuracies in 'The Social Network'). I find most documentaries too drab for me to sit down and enjoy, despite wanting to learn the subject matter.

Film loving gamblers, how did we all do at this years oscars ?
Now as we all know the Oscars ceremony itself is as boring as sin so to make sure me and my friend are actually invested in the show we like to place the odd wager (also being from the UK it helped keep us awake). So the bets I placed this year were a nice combination of "defiantly going to win" and "you never know the academy" type bets.
Best picture - Birdman WON
Best Actor - Michael Keaton LOST
Best Actress - Felicity Jones LOST
Best Supporting Actor - Edward Norton LOST
Best Production Design - The Grand Budapest Hotel WON
Best Visual Effects - Interstellar WON
Best Hair and Makeup - The Grand Budapest Hotel WON
So with the lions share of our money went into our three incorrect risky bets we only just broke even (£20 to £22.04), but hopefully some of you out there did a little better.
Who won big and who lost it all ? Cheers guys ! Best Animated Feature - Big Hero 6 WON

Peter Jackson's King Kong will be ten years old this December
I still remember clearly when I saw it at the theater. Wow, I must have been around ten years old. I remeber how terrified I was of the Skull Island natives and everytime I watched the movie at home I skipped that part. But, King Kong is absolutely one of the most memorable movies of my childhood and I'm still impressed at how extremely well made it is. It absolutely holds up to today's standars. Pretty much like the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It never gets old. If you watched King Kong for the first time today and someone told you that it is ten years old, would you believe him?

/r/movies Oscar Bingo Thread!
We have three winners! Thanks for playing everyone! Hope you had as much fun as I did. Without further adieu, congrats to...
1st place- /u/heremeow
2nd place- /u/Bellekid
3rd place- /u/soundofsilence1
Great job guys! I'll be in touch about your prizes. Thanks everyone for another hugely successful year!
Welcome to Oscar Bingo! This thread is for discussing anything related to Oscar Bingo, hosted by /r/movies and print-bingo.com. Discuss your game cards, official rulings, and generally anything Oscar Bingo related. Most importantly, have fun!
In case you missed it:
Here are some official rules for tonight's game:
Official rulings on the more subjective answers will be posted in the comments. They are open for discussion but at the end of the day we have final say.
To win, you must be the first to e-mail the mod account with a picture or screenshot of the winning card, your reddit username, and the serial number on the card plainly visible or included in the e-mail. The e-mail address is MovieMods@gmail.com. If you fail to do any of those things you will not win.
5 in a row wins. Horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
Obviously, we cannot read your card with big markings on it. Try using the X's or small dots in the corner. As long as we can still read the card you're good. If we cannot read the card your winning card may not be counted.
First e-mail wins. Make BINGO! The subject. You have to call BINGO those are the rules of Bingo. There are prizes involved. Winners will be announced here in OP once the serial numbers are verified.
If you are playing to win and you send us a game card, please be ready to cite the used spots. If we ask when something happened don't respond with, "I don't remember, but it happened." Be ready to recall it with a somewhat accurate when. Most likely we won't have to ask because we'll all be watching, but keep track just in case. Obviously if I make a ruling on something in the thread, you're safe to mark it. If you have any questions about a cell, post them in this thread.
Just to reiterate, if you do not e-mail the movie mods account with the correct information, your win will not be valid. You can post winning cards in this thread for discussion sake, but they won't be counted unless you e-mail it to us with all the proper information. This is the best way to see who is first.
This is for fun. Yes, there are prizes, but they won't be anything to write home about. Don't take it too seriously and don't spend too much time arguing with official rulings.
This should go without saying, but only things shown on screen during the ceremony will count. No first hand accounts or background activities. Also, no pre-show. No one wants the game to be over before it begins!
Have fun and a big thanks to print-bingo.com and /u/kleinbl00 for helping make this fun and easy for everyone!
Edit: guys please quote the cell you're asking about when asking for a ruling. Will just make things easier on me.

Why Birdman?
I watched Birdman this weekend and let me say this out straight away that I didn’t think the movie was great. I thought it was average at best.
Now, what I really want to understand is the phenomena around Birdman. It has got a ton of rave reviews and of course the Oscar now. What is it that people see in this movie that I don’t? I thought the performances of all the actors were pretty good. The illusion of having shot the movie in one straight long shot was brilliant. The story was alright but I have heard people say that it so reflective of the times we live in and that it is a beautiful study on the complex human existence that is a little out of sync with today. First of all, any decent movie made in today's time will be reflective of the times we live in, whether or not they want it that way. Also don't we all see this kind of existence nearly every day? Haven't we met a bunch of people who can't wrap their heads around twitter and tinder and are still trying to find their fleet in their careers?
So what I am saying is that I don’t buy into these two pseudo-intellectual reasons at all. What I do wish to understand are the real reasons though. What do people love so much about this movie. How is it that they relate to this protagonist and his circumstances? What blows them away or what moves them so dearly. Do some people find this movie mildly funny or intelligent enough to declare this the best movie?
Would love to hear from everyone on this.

Oscar 2015 Logic Error for Best Film Editing
Hello!
Is it just me or does anyone else see the logic error behind giving Birdman both Film of the Year and Best Cinematography but not a Best Film Editing award for its continuous One Shot post production edit of the ENTIRE film? I know the film won other awards during the oscar but if you are going to recognize a film for something visual, as in the cinematography department then clearly it should be backed up by the outstanding editing of the film itself which separates it from the other films nominated.

Ever just sit and stare into the abyss of your "to-watch" list unable to decide so you just end up not watching anything?
If so, I have a trick for you to try. Lately, whenever I feel like watching a movie but have no particular movie in mind I just google a random number generator input the number of movies in my queue and let chance decide for me. The last two times I have done this it instantly stopped that wishy-washy unable-to-decide "nothing sounds good" syndrome and the movie gods blessed me with Leaving Las Vegas and Cool Hand Luke, both great movies that have been on my to-watch list for ages.
Give this method a try next time.
