What are some great examples of "show, don't tell"?
Much like the rest of /r/movies, I recently had the pleasure of watching John Wick and was especially taken with the economy of the film's storytelling. The opening, in particular, establishes his meager personal life and sense of loss. It's not a masterclass in "show, don't tell" but in the age of movies that effectively hand-hold the audience like we are a bunch of true fools, it was refreshing. What are some other great examples? There Will Be Blood comes to mind.
