To celebrate Groundhog Day, here's a look at the main filming location from the 1992 Bill Murray movie!
The film Groundhog Day is, of course, set in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, but most shooting actually happened in Woodstock, Illonois. First, there's the town's central park, where the townsfolk freeze their butts off waiting to worship a rat. The theater that plays Heidi II is still there and still in business. The house used as the bed and breakfast is not far from the town center. My personal favorite, though, is the Opera House tower, from which Bill Murray of other shooting locales used in the town.
Happy Groundhog Day, all!
