John Wick 2 (spoilers about #1)

Just got finished watching John Wick, and I noticed at the very end he got another dog. I can't help but feel if the movie ends up popular like the taken series (where people get kidnapped nonstopped), wouldn't it be dark humored if people kept killing his dogs and kept hunting them down and adopting another one?
